We are not sure that
a procession is going to be practical or
possible this year yet. Watch this space for
further information. However, we have left in
the explanation of previous year's events so you
will know what to expect should we programme
this into events:
Starting at 11.45
from Malvern Hall car park, the Procession will
burst onto the High Street to entertain the
waiting crowds. In a change from previous
year’s, this year we intend to stop for longer
in the High Street and have various
entertainments lined up – from Belly Dancers to
Morris Men. It will be a wonderful event to see,
so make sure you’re there in plenty of time.
As the procession passes, follow us down to the
Carnival Ground to enjoy the afternoon before
wandering up to Bob Wilson’s funfair to enjoy
the huge range of rides suitable for all ages.
In you’d like to take part in this year’s
procession, we welcome everyone (but we’re
almost full!). You don’t need a lorry as walking
participants are just as welcome and all ages
can take part. Just
email the Procession Manager for more
information or download the entry form from the
Home Page and send it in. It’s a great way to
publicise your organisation and raise your
profile.
We hope to see you there on June 12th.
The route the procession will be taking
can be seen here:

The road closure of New Road for the procession
will be placed at 11:45am prompt to allow us to progress the
procession into the High Street for 12 noon.
Once in the High Street, New Road will be
re-opened, and then, after a hold in the High Street for about 20
minutes to provide additional entertainment, Poplar Road, Station Road, Herbert Road and
Homer Road will be closed to enable us to move the procession
towards Tudor Grange Park.
Once the procession moves out of the High
Street we will also close Prince's Way and Monkspath Hall Road (to
Whitefields Road) to enable the procession to move safely onto
Tudor Grange Park.
However, for additional safety reasons we
will ask all walking participants to follow the footpath
direct to the Park through the road and rail underpasses, as
indicated by the blue arrows. We also ask that any person or groups
on the back of open wagons to dismount as they turn into Homer Road
and also walk.
We have tried to implement a plan to cause the
minimum of disruption to the town centre, and still be safe for all
those involved.
