Event - Cec Crossley - Petanque - 28th July 2016

Report courtesy of Chris and Alan

Once again we met and challenged Table to our annual skirmish for the Cec Crossley Trophy. Petanque was the game/sport of choice.

The rules were 'explained' in such a way as to be totally baffling ... but we began throwing boules around anyway.

This year Table pulled a fast one and demanded the Honoraries should play for them, which turned out to be a good move on their part as the honoraries put up the best individual scores at the end of the evening!

These counted so well towards the final reckoning that Table had to be pronounced the winners!

Roll on next year!

For more, I suggest you peruse the photos (and captions) below.

1.  The rules are explained - bemusement all round!

2. ... nope, still no one understands ... in spite of this ...

3. Play commences, Lewis sends down a high one.

4. A measure is required at times - only to see whose is the least far away ...

5. More measuring - why is it always Peter?

6. Table Chairman Chris has a go
