Event - Visit to Severn Valley Steam Railway Steam Gala - 23rd September 2017

Chairman Paul decided to take a group of us for a day out to 'play trains' on the Severn Valley Railway during their Steam Gala weekend.

 

We (Sarah and myself) had actually arrived and parked the caravan at Highley on the Friday, so I had to catch an early steam train on the Saturday morning to Kidderminster to meet Paul and the gang off the 'real' trains at about 9:45am!

 

A great time was had travelling up and down the line behind various steam engines, although a lot of our time seemed to be spent on the platform at Highley and Arley!

 

We even stopped for lunch at The Ship Inn at Highley where we met up with Sarah, who had been busy writing her next novel in the caravan!
